The issue was first reported on Reddit, noting that the smartphones display a “Can’t find valid operating system. The device will not start,” message when switched on. Google is aware of the problem and that the problem has already been fixed, said a source familiar with the matter. It is presumed that it was a manufacturing defect that has since been corrected. Currently, the only fix for Google is to replace the device, as there is no way of installing the OS on Pixel 2 XL handsets. In case, you have received a Google Pixel 2 XL smartphone without Android, send it back to Google and ask for a replacement. Source: Android Police
