The 3.4% percentage gain over two months shows that Windows 11 is still growing, although at a relatively slow pace. This is the first time that its market share has exceeded 20% after the April 2022 report. However, Windows 11 is still behind the other versions of operating systems. According to AdDuplex, the most popular version of Windows is Windows 10 21H2, also known as Windows 10 November 2021 Update (November 2021 Update), and holds the number one position as per Windows market share. Windows 10 21H2 has seen an increase in its market share, which is up from 35% in April 2022 to 38.1% in June 2022. Windows 10 21H2 is followed by Windows 10 version 21H1 in second place with a  market share of 23.9%, down from 26.4% in April 2022. The third position is taken by Windows 11 21H2 with a market share of 23.1%. The report states that less than 3.5% of modern Windows PC upgraded to Windows 11 in the last two months. Approximately, the same number was added to the latest version of Windows 10. On the other hand, older versions of Windows 10 have also decreased significantly with version 20H2 dropping to 3.8% from 6.1% in April 2022, while version 2004 reduced to 5.2% from the previous 6.5%, and other older versions saw declines of 0.4%. The percentage of Windows Insiders builds increased a little from 0.7% to 0.8%. “This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows Store apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of June 28th, 2022 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated,” AdDuplex states. Approximately 60,000 PCs were surveyed, although there is no clarity if the figures are a direct extension of data collected from around 5,000 apps from the Microsoft Store (formerly known as “Windows Store”) running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). So, the AdDuplex survey doesn’t provide a clear picture of all the PCs in the world.
